So I signed up for the 1and1 free webspace promotion, and now I'm just about clueless. :D

I uploaded a file to my FTP space, so now how do I link it so that people can download it from HTTP?

Yes, I radiate web"master" n00bishness. Forgive, pray thee. :)

doesn't work. at least, if I put the file in a folder.
http://sBLAHABLAHALBALHANUMBNERS.onlinehome.us/files/filename.extension
doesn't work, even if it is in
ftp://sBLAHABLAHALBALHANUMBNERS.onlinehome.us/files/filename.extension

says file not found (404)
Example from my site:

http://s87006286.onlinehome.us/albums/album01/Paige_Hugging_Me.jpg

doesn't work for me. URL is
http://s90378886.onlinehome.us/center.zip
or, alternately,
http://s90378886.onlinehome.us/files/center.zip

it's uploaded, and browsing the FTP shows both of them.
if I change the FTP:// to HTTP://, then the file "doesn't exist".

From a guess as to how high the handrail is, I'd say about 6' 3-4", but possibly higher.

Oh, right, and I'd still like to figure out my issue. :)

Take a screenshot of the FTP program while you're browsing the file and let us take a look at it.

Since you obviously activated WebsiteCreator for your domain you'll have to store your files in the wscXXXXXXXX directory that's in the root directory of your account. Activating WSC changes the home directory of the domain it is activated for.

Upload one of your files in the wsc12345678 directory and post a screenshot of your FTP screen if you can't get the link to work - I bet it's on your end, since your site itself is working.
