y Grand Wega 60"

Well my parents got a new Sony Grand Wega 60" KF60XBR800 TV. DVD, VHS, and VCD looks great but the cable televsion looks like ass. I don't know why but my old rear-projection 56" looks alot better. Do you think it could be the cable wire?

People who are GenMay users, can you post this there for me too? They don't accept Hotmail.

Its probably your cable feed combined with the much higher resolution/definition of the Wega. Look into a drop amp or better cable splitters. Maybe time for DirecTV? Call the cable company and have them test your line to see if its dirty/noisy.

It sucks but Ive deffinetely noticed higher resolution TVs show lower resolution signals like crap... VCR, Cable... all seem to look worse. If you can get digital cable it may be worth a shot. Or DirectTV.

grand wega, droool.

these are only sold in high end electronic stores. the demos that ive seen these tvs are often on dvds, not cable. i know it looks gorgeous but cant speak for cable.

That's a well known "feature" of Wega XBR TV's. What you put in is what you get out has never been more true than with that line of TV's. DVD's and other hi-def sources look fantastic, while cable TV and other lowgrade sources look like garbage. There isn't anything you can do about it.

Most cable and non-HD channels look like @ss on any 40"+ RPTV.

sweet set!!! the downside to sonys is they dont compensate for low res inputs...not much you can do about it as far as I know

The Grand Wega's are nothing but a way over-priced mediocre Sony product. For 2 Grand less you can get a similar or better TV.
