XVid & Virtual Dub help!

Hi,

I need to encode .vob files into XVid and it seems cleaner XL cannot do it. So I was looking into virtualdub MPEG / Virtualdub MOD. I've tried both so far. The problem I am having is, there is no way for me to adjust the resolution and datarate of the output xvid file?? I need to reduce from 720px to 640 and have a constant bit rate of 1500Kbps. I cannot for life of me figure out where to modify these settings in vdub. All I can find is "advanced @ level5" type settings which cannot be edited directly.

Someone help! I have the latest Xvid codec installed I believe...but just in case tell me which codec I need if I don thave the correct one.

Thanks a million

Video -> Compression
Select XviD and click Configure.
There's Profile Level, Encoding Type, and then another box that'll either say Target bitrate or Target Quantizer. Click on the Target button on the left to toggle between the two.
FYI, I'm using the latest stable binary of Koepi's build.

Oh, and to resize - Video -> Filters. Use the resize filter with the Lanczos3 filter mode.

Hey Jeff, that worked! Thanks a million.

However now I'm getting some weird error about audio:

"No Audio decompressor could be found to decompress source audio."

My source audio is just the .vob file and I know the audio is fine as I can encode to .wmv in cleaner no problem.

I probably need another codec? Any ideas which one I need?

thanks again,

Luc

That probably is telling you that the audio is AC3 format. I can interpret it natively with my tools, but I think I remember being able to find a codec addin at Videohelp.com a long time ago.
