xvid file won't play?

Hey,

So I have the xvid codecs installed, but when I try to play a particular xvid file (in any player - WMP, powerdvd, etc), the player will crash. It doesn't say unrecognized file type or anything, the program just crashes. Before it crashes, though, the video size adjusts to the proper size, and it appears to recognize how long the movie is. Any idea what's causing the crash?

Thanks...

get the latest xvid version, after 1.0 was released the files encoded with it dont play properly with the older codec

Did you try reinstalling the codecs? But if your player crashes, it might be the player itself, since wrong codec or a corrupt codec would usually give you an error. Try a different player.
