Hi guys : i've been having this shutdown issue, some times i click in the icon in the corner to shutdown it presents me with 4 solutions, log out, Restart, shutdown, suspend,i click on shutdown and it goes to logout menu, it seems it only happens on my Dell P4 32Bit, i have a Lenovo I5 Intel desktop with the same Xubuntu 14.04 except 64bit and it doesn't do that,
I've posted this before,no solution, has anybody encountered this issue and anybody has a solution?thanks in advance.

Have you tried using the guest account or setting up a new user and testing with it?
Also do the issue happen in a live environment?

I have the same issue sometimes with Kubuntu. (I think I had it in Xubuntu too) It's very random.

I do know that when I was running F@H it did it all the time, I had to stop running that or I could not properly shut down my machine. Only way to shut down was to console in as root and do a shutdown. I don't think it's good to do that on a GUI though as it's equivalent to an improper shutdown. (I think)

If any process is running as another user I think it refuses to shut down. It's quite an annoying "feature". I could see it being useful on a server platform but not on a workstation.

I'd be curious to know if there is a fix for this too.
