i put in a 9 gb, really loud HD and it is LOUD. my entire computer was loud before, but now its even more louder x3. can i like wrap my computer with styrafome (not spelled rite) and leave spots for fan, or anything i can use around the house to reduce noise?

Do you really need to put up with all that noise just for 9gb of hard drive space? With the price hard drives are now, you can get 20x that space for quite cheap, or just remove it...

Try taking a bunch of elastic bands and suspending your hard drive in midair so that it's decoupled from the case. Most of the sound comes from the vibration of the hard drive shaking the entire case, if you remove the tight connection, it'll be quiter.

i got it from a friend, and i put it in becuase why let it collect dust? and i have no moneey. where am i gunna suspend it from, and wont that affect how it rotates the needle?
