I downloaded the Xtreme-G 84.56 drivers earlier today and decided to do a comparison between these and the official nVidia 84.21 drivers:

Counter Strike: Source
1280x1024, 8xAA, 16xAF, everything maxed
84.21..........84.56XG
102.04fps....101.02fps

F.E.A.R.
1152x864, 2xAA, 4xAF, max light, shadows, textures, vids, shaders, no soft shadows
.................84.21.........84.56XG
Min............32fps..........30fps
Max...........70fps..........67fps
Avg...........153fps.........149fps

0-20fps......0%.............0%
20-40fps....15%............13%
40+ fps......85%...........87%

3Dmark 06
..........................84.21............84.56XG
Score:.................4854.............4864
SM2 Score:..........2008.............2011
HDR/SM3 Score:..1992.............1990
CPU Score:..........1666.............1684

3Dmark 05
................84.21............84.56XG
Score:.......8767.............8723
Test1:.......37.8fps..........37.7fps
Test2:.......26.7fps..........26.4fps
Test3:.......42.7fps..........42.8fps

Overall: No massive change in framerates, and no noticable change in IQ. Maybe sometime tomorrow i'll get a chance to add the WHQL 84.56 drivers so any changes made for the XG drivers is more obvious.

So the WHQL 84.56 are actually from eVGA? Is nVidia releasing them too or are they geared towards eVGA parts?

Here is what evga has on their site:
* WHQL Certified
* TV-Out/HD-out support for NVIDIA SLI.
* Added support for VSync on Direct3D games when running NVIDIA SLI.
* Performance enhancements for dual-core CPUs.
* PureVideo high definition MPEG-2 de-interlacing support.
* Usability enhancements when connecting to an HDTV.
* Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0c and OpenGL® 2.0 support

It doesn't list improvements to any specific games.

0-20fps......0%.............0%
20-40fps....15%............13%
40+ fps......85%...........83%

How is this right when the second column does not even equal 100%????
