For some reason these screenshots just don't do the game justice. I have seen it run on your machine josh, and it looks much better than these screens. Here the skin of the models looks monotone. In game it looks much more dynamic. /shurg.

It's OK, but I think HL@ with the cinematic mod looks a lot better. I have a bunch of screenies of it if anyone's interested.

QFT!!! ****PATIENTLY**** waiting for a fix for G80 so I can run it with my 8800GTS.

It looks a bit cartoonish in the pics like the monotone skin as was mentioned. Probably looks much better playing.

Yeah, I played the demo and went out and purchased it that day. The graphics are amazing! One of the reasons I upgraded to the 8800 GTX. I needed more horsepower after running it on my X1900 XTX.

Hehehe, good luck getting it to run on your 8800GTX. It doesn't work with G80 properly. Neither the demo nor the retail version works properly. If you DO SOMEHOW get it to work then please post how.

They never do, for any game. Maybe I should load up a FRAPS recording or something, but even that I feel won't be able to reproduce the quality of seeing the rain's effects and the HDR in action.

xtknight, I agree that the human models are the best I've ever seen. Beating HL2 ,Oblivion w/mods, Q4, etc.
When I try to see the screens, all my screen has on it is a 0. Weird. Maybe the server is still acting up.
Hmmmm.....

The first set was from allyoucanupload.com and their servers have been acting buggy today. BUT, it is currently working for at me.

The second set (on page two) were from ImageShack, and I haven't had a problem with them yet.

These are of course only the first two levels, and so far my environments have been to the extent of a pitch black missle silo and a prison. I'll put some more up if and when I get into some truly rich environments with more light. I'll probably try to host them in BMP format instead of JPG to see if that improves the quality any.

If anyone else has some screens from the game as well, feel free to share them.

Don't do it .. It would be a waste of bandwith.. Though JPEG uses lossy algorithms, differences are unnoticeable in the vast majority of cases..
Anyway if someone wants to check pics there are plenty of them in the net to check..

Save them as PNGs (lossless but compressed). I can also upload if you want. Lossy compression is hard on dark areas, though I don't think it would help that much. Are there any lighter scenes in the game?

Wow, this game looks great. I think people are being overly critical because it is hard to see the screenshots; they look dull and dark.

Don't worry, some games are just difficult to capture in motion. In addition, game screenshots can remove the game's gamma correction and even AA depending on how its applied.

There's a demo so I'll try to get some shots too.

Don't buy a 8800GTX yet , save your money. Buy a 360 instead ;) with Gears of War , Viva pinata , Dead rising and rainbow 6 vegas. Enjoy your Christmas instead of looking at low long is your G80 and how much it scores in 3D mark.

Well I'm going to have to resize them, or find someplace that will host files larger than 1Mb.... any ideas?

sorry but atleast from the pics that is one ugly game. have you even tried oblivion ? even on my x800gt at 12x10 it looks better than this crap.
maybe its better in motion.

Mm...I disagree. In particular the last picture: the models are quite detailed, the lightning is top-notch and the textures look razor sharp.

I do think GoW looks better than any game out there, but Double Agent does look great. I think the pics josh posted are a wee bit too dark, but you can still tell it's a great looking game.

honestly i don't give rats ass doubt the sharp textures, or the lighting. imo those things are irrelevant compared to the big picture, the WHOLE SCENE taken as one. thats whats important. like i said its probably .(much much much) better in motion but to me it looks crap.

That is no way the best looking PC game.
I'd say COD2, Episode 1, Oblivion, Company of Heroes etc all look better.

It's pretty much just a hi-res mod for HL2. Everything including the models' faces have a lot more detail to them. The homepage is here, and there are some screeines there but they are resized and you don't get near the effect as fullsize shots. It says you need to run a minimum of 1600x1200, but I run 1680x1050 and it looks great. If anybody wants to host some I'd be glad to send them to you.

Here are some pics with the Cinematic Mod I took a while ago, though they are only 1280x1024:

I like it for the most part. Notice how Alyx's face looks different, as well as the textures on her clothes (she even gets Gucci patches on her bum ;) ) All in all the game looks better with it, though some of the new textures look kinda odd sometimes, or just plain bad, like the professor (I forgot his name) who helps Gordon in the first part of the game. They tried to make his lab coat to look dirty and wrinkled up, but it just looks as if it were made out of clay do.

AA, why didn't you put AA on? Those pics do look good none the less. Has anyone played episode 2? What do you think of those graphics?

Pretty sure AA was on when I took em  It probably didn't come up right in the pics...

Episode 2 isn't out yet (and won't be for a while), though I have played through episode 1 a couple of times and it looks great.
