Xtasy GF4 Ti4200 128 MB

Actually picked this card up over the weekend (Visiontek is the manufacturer). Here's my thoughts:

1) Price. Got this card for $179-$10 Gift card-$20 MIR=$149. Very nice price. Rating: A+

2) Box and stuff: No pack in games like some retail cards (not a big deal to me). No additional cables included (again, not a big deal to me). Instruction "poster", 2 CD's. Rating: C

3) Card: Straightforward. HSF was decent. No RAM heatsinks. Design seemed average. Rating: C+

4) Installation: No problems due to the card (driver issues were my own doing). Did discover that my system could only run the card at 2XAGP (would lock up on 4X). Can't fault the card for that though. Rating: A

5) Overclocking: Since I only ran 1 benchmark at stock speed, I'll just jump to overclocking results. Using Coolbits I was able to push the card to 315/546 completely stable. Any higher and I would get artifacts. The card would complete 3DMark2001SE at 315/560, but with tearing and artifacts. 3DMark2001SE score for my configuration was 7190 (with my normal background programs running). Ranked #3 for comparable systems on MadOnion.com. While not incredible these results were very good (I personally would have loved to hit 550 stable though, but 4Mhz away isn't huge performance-wise). The 315Mhz core speed was a welcome surprise. I could likely go higher using another overclocking program (Coolbits max is 315). Rating: B+

6) Overall thoughts: Great Price, impressive overclocking, but lacking in additional goodies. For what I need it for, and it's price/performance, I'd recommend this card. No major disappointments (minor one being couldn't hit 550Mhz memory speed reliably). Final Rating: B+
