Xtasy 6564 GeForce3 Ti200 Video Performance

I recently purchased this card and did some benchmarking on it. My computer specs are a P4 1.6MHz, 768MB Crucial DDR Ram, 120Gig WD 8MB hard drive, running Windows XP. I used 3DMark2001 as the test and got a score of about 3991 marks. However, this site has a review on the exact same card and got a much higher score of 5494 having much lower quality computer parts. Neither my card, nor the one on this site has been overclocked or altered in any way which would mess up the card in the long run. I heard that there was a setting in XP which I had to change to make it so my card would run better, but I don't know what that would be. Does anybody have any recommendations on how I would improve the quality of the performance on my card without overclocking?

Since 3dmarks is all you want, disable aniso and antialiasing, set image quality to high performance, no texture sharpening.

For an actual performance increase, slap a better hsf on the sucker and oc like a madman. I got the gpu on my gf3 (original) up to 260 and the memory up to 560. Made all my games alot smoother at 1024x768. It also brought up my 3dmarks up about 1000 points. Maybe more.

Granted a P4 1.6GHz is pretty slow, but I get almost 8000 with my 64MB 9100 and an XP1700+ at "Balanced" driver settings, so there seems to be something wrong with your system. You can start by making sure you have AA and AF disabled. Did you uninstall your previous card fully?

Setting IQ to lowest settings via drivers isn't fair or realistic, IMO, as you'll never play games at that setting.

I forgot to remove my old drivers, probably should format and do a reinstall. What is the AA and AF setting?

Make sure your using the latest drivers .... off the nvidia website
the ones that come with the videocard are no good.

Also make sure your computer has the latest motherboard drives and so on.... ... the 1.6Ghz P4 is not a very fast CPU

Around as fast as a 1Ghz Athlon but with 512MB of ram and The Geforce3 videocard you should play games well.

What was your previous card? You may not need to format, just uninstall via Add/Remove Programs, reboot, and install the new drivers following their instructions. If uninstalling doesn;t fix things, you may try DriverHeaven's DriverCleaner.

AA and AF, anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, should be options in the Advanced panel of Display Settings.

My previous card was a Geforce 2 GTS-V. I did install the latest drivers from their website though. I'll try and see if I can get this stuff going.
