replace my Asus geforce 256 32mb sdr for Xtasy 6564 GeForce 3 ti/200 64mb ddr, but now i can't enable fastwrite, 4x and sideband in winXP even with some reg. crack. it seem like it is not enable in the card Bios (though 4x crack work in win Me but not fw and sb) :(

it used to work with my geforce 256.... what give???

i realy think that fastwrite would give my card a boost cause my 3dmark2001 score are not too impressive.:eek:

gf 256= +/- 2500
gf3 = +/- 4450

any solution???

thanks

Ok Rivatuner 2.0 RC10 corrected my 4x prob. but still not able to enable Fast write, (activated in mobo bios)
according to riva tuner it is supported in Northbridge but disable and not supported by display adapter ??? :Q

Most manufacturers intentionally disable support for FastWrites in the cards BIOS nowadays, as it's been proven many a time not to offer any tangible performance benefits and quite often it negatively impacts stability.
IMHO your definitely better off leaving it disabed irregardless of whether you can enable it or not.

If you must enable it then find a proggy that can edit the BIOS of your graphics card, but I'd personally stringly recommend leaving it alone.

I think your 3dmark 2001 scores must be due to something else. I dont have AGP fast writes or sideband enabled (NVMax wasnt able to enable them) and I got around 6500 3dmarks. After some tweaking and overclocking (I got it up to 230/510 running 3dmark 2001 loops but I run it at 220/500 just in case) I got a bit over 8000 3dmarks.

I enabled fast writes and reflashed my card, ran a 3dmark, lost 50 points, reflashed back to the stock non-fast write enabled bios... it's a waste of effort, investigate other variables in your system first....

with a 1800+ @ 145fsb, visiontek gf3 ti200 @ 235/510 I get 8190 3dmarks w/ 27.43 dets

This seems like it is constantly happening these days. Someone buys a new GeForce 3 and thinks that they are gonna break 8000 on 3DMark2001. It isn't that easy. There are very very few systems that can break 8000 marks without tweaking or overclocking. If you had a GeForce 256, then most likely the rest of your specs aren't that high. You are probably bottlenecked by your other components.

maybe... but i upgraded my celeron 566 66fsb (o/c at 807 on a 95mhz fsb) for a celeron 1000 100fsb and now memory (320MB) run at 133fsb instead of 95fsb, so i would imagine at least a score above 5000 with a new geforce3 ti/200.
i thought it was an expectation within reach :(

and not just 3DMark2001, i was expecting more off Open GL game too.....

oh well, i guest i read too much tech website and forum, but don't have enough money to keep the pace :eek:
