Athlon64 family cpus has harware NX(No eXecution) function that works with SP2's DEP(Data Execution Prevention), which prevents buffer overruns error at hardware level.
Intel will give similar function to their cpu later this year.
Is this true?

In a nutshell, yes. You can still install it on Intel systems though, but you won't have NX support.
