My daughter purchased XPS M1330: Intel® Core? 2 Duo T9300, 128MB NVIDIA® GeForce? 8400M GS, HDMI out, Vista® Home Premium, MEMORY 4GB DDR2 SDRAM, 200GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM), CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW Drive), etc.

She is an art student with extensive use of Adobe software. Could this laptop handle DELL ULTRASHARP 2408WFP (HDMI version) reasonably well?

Even integrated graphics can handle resolutions up to 1920x1200 (native to 24" LCD), so if she has a 8000 series with HDMI, there's no doubt that it should do fine. The only thing I would caution would be that a lot of people aren't comfortable with the small pixel size of a 24" LCD. That's why we are seeing 27" and 28" LCDs on the market because they have a slightly larger pixel pitch that's more comfortable for many people.

EDIT: By the way, you'd get more responses if you changed the title to something like "DELL 24" LCD running on XPS M1330" and moved this to the "Video Cards and Graphics" forum.

I've used my 24" on an old Radeon 8500 All in Wonder. Worked fine and I even played WoW. That 8400M GS is more than enough.

Yeah the M1330 should have no problem with 1900x1200...if the TNT2 in my Pentium 3 Dell could easily handle the 1600x1200 of my old Sony Trinitron CRT, then an 8400GS should be more than fine at the native res of the 2408WFP.
