XPS m1330 Laptop AC Adapter holds power, doesn't charge??

Hello

I currently own the XPS m1330 and the AC adapter does not charge my laptop anymore. It will let it hold the charge for awhile (at a lower wattage--PC speed suffers). I'm wondering if I have a virus (contemplated ditching the hdd and buying a new one and reinstalling windows vista for $35), or if this is a common problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated (and paypal if I can get this fixed!!)

When you unplug your laptop, does the computer die immediately? Most likely your battery is dead. This has nothing to do with a virus, I can tell you that much.
