Google for an employee purchase ID code? LOL!

I guess that could work. Didn't try yet.

I don't think this is a price mistake. Dell EPP XPS420 deals last month had blue ray drive or 4yr warranty and were priced slightly higher than this deal.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but just following the OP's link gets me to the price he has listed. I am not seeing a need to enter any employee purchase id code

And last month BB had an Acer Aspire with similar specs (only 2GB RAM rather than 3, 500GB disk rather than 320GB, no tuner or monitor) for $550, no rebates...

You have to go through the configurations and select the exact options the OP is suggesting to see that price (mainly drop the LCD). Even then, you may still be a bit off as there may be a small percentage discount in the cart.

I dont believe it is a price mistake either, nor do I think it very hot.

The video card is terrible, and doesn't belong anywhere near the XPS line.

On newegg, you can pick up the CPU, a MB, a 256 2400HD PRO, and 4 GB Ram for about $400 after 2 rebates.

It shouldn't be very difficult to round out the system another $300.

I came up with the OP's price. Seems like a reasonable deal to me.

Not going to debate whether this is hot or not but rather state that for those who are interested, Dell was just recently offering the same spec XPS 420 as listed by OP with 3GB DDR2-800 instead of DDR2-667, Blu-ray ROM DVD-RW, and a 8800GT 512 gfx card for just under $1000 shipped/taxed.

drpain714 you are so right, this offer is nothing like the one in Jan. that I found out about late and didnt get chance to benefit. This one isnt bad that that other one was great and I am hoping Dell does that one again......................
