XPI-plugins for linux-mandrake/mozilla

Hi guyz...

I'm trying to install the jre.xpi (java) plug-in for the installation of mozilla browser in Mandrake 8.0.

When I 'open file' as root, and choose jre.xpi, it prompts me to save the file... why does this happen? it never did before on previous installations of linux/mozilla.

And ideas, throughts or suggestions ?
