How in the hell do you buy these in the States? You can't buy phones from their USA website, and their Sony mall stores are closing. Went to the one at South Coast. They're a gone.

Nice phone but WTF is up with the bezels.
4 generations of Z phones already and they can't shrink the top and bottom bezels ??
Remembered when Sony has the smallest bezels of any phone in the ZL ???
Hell, just make a phone like the ZL and I'd be more interested in them.

The ZL is also the only phone from the Xperia Z series that isn't IP rated. Maybe it's related to the water/dust proofing mechanics? (I have no imagination, so don't ask me how)

They'll show up eventually. Although not all of the Z series variations have been available in the Sony US website. In which case you'll find these on eBay for a competitive price (brand new in box from reputable sellers). It sucks, but that's how it's always been with the Z series phones.

Z5 premium white paper (you can search for the white papers for z5c/z5. On mobile and lazy)

http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/whitepapers/xperia-z5-premium-e6853-white-paper/

These white papers describe the different models and configuration, including LTE band support

(Looks for a T-Mobile version with band 12l)

Z5 premium single sim has band 12, but no band 4 3g

The z5 premium dual Sim has bband 12 support and band 4 3g
http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/whitepapers/xperia-z5-premium-dual-e6833-and-e6883-white-paper/

Might be my next phone...

Seems like all of them have band 12

The z5c and z5 dont have band 4 3G

Looks like there isn't (yet) a model exclusive/sold to a USA carrier. No CDMA(CDMA models may come later, see KDDI/japan/Korean models)

lol they probably missed a number in the beginning. It's probably supposed to be 210h.

Even odder that they claim only 2-day battery when it can play 120 hours of HD videos. I mean, that is 5 days of non-stop playback..

Lol, I hate these spec wars screens that end up ruining battery life. 1080p on mobile is more than enough given the specs we have. We need far better processors that won't eat battery life before going 4k on phones...

Then i guess you should be happy the regular Z5 is 1080p 5.2" and SD810, 3GB RAM, 2900mah, 23MP, IP68, mSD slot.

It's just the premium version that has the 4k screen, the regular Z5 is still 1080p.

Hopefully it gets reviewed well, and I can actually get it fairly easily in the USA. With the Note 5 turning out how it did, this is probably the front runner if I end up wanting to replace the Note 4 in the next year.

Nice looking phones. And mSD card slot... awesome now that Samsung's dropped the ball on those.

And LOL @ 160 hours of HD video playback. None of those numbers make any sense to me, even as typos. 16 Hours of HD video and 10 Hours of music makes no sense (why would you get 6 more hours of video, let alone 150?) 160 hours and 210 hours makes no sense either.

Phone looks good, but the problem with Sony is their next phone is always right around the corner. Unless they've changed their "every ~6 months" plan?

I think they announced they were moving to an annual cycle...but I honestly have a pretty strong feeling that in less than 6 months a Z5+ or Z6 will be released with the exact same specs except with the S820.

Honestly i'm not sure why they aren't delaying the premium version for that, 4k is going to be a pain in the ass on the Adreno 430, should have waited for the Adreno 530 in SD820.

So far most of Sony's sales have been carrier free and compatible with GSM 4G networks. I am hoping for t-mobile again. I am also hoping for a compact version running at 2048x1200 or something similar.

compact is 4.7" 720p display, sony seems pretty set on keeping the compact a bit lower end.

It's fairly obvious that they accidently swapped the numbers between HD playback and music playback. 160h worth of HD playback would be the same as almost 7 days worth of continuous onscreen time, which is obviously bunk.

So it's 10h worth of HD playback, and 160h worth of music playback (compared to 10h and 130h for the Z3)

compact is 4.7" 720p display, sony seems pretty set on keeping the compact a bit lower end.

It's 4.6" actually.

I'm quite happy to see this release. For me the Z5 is the sweet spot, but I am tempted by the Z5 premium. There is some press out there that Sony has fixed the Snapdragon 810 overheating but - in my experience with numerous phones - this is not limited to the Snapdragon 810. I've seen it on other phones as well (while filming in 4k). But I'm only able to reproduce the app closing say, on a beach in the south mediterranean, leaving a black phone in the sun for a while, etc.

On the 4k screen - I'm happy to see Sony push, and to those who say it's 'too soon' - it might be, for you, but that's you. The only way that question seems decided is by people massively adopting a phone and then by implication concluding that 'at that time' the appropriate resolution appeared - e.g., phone size was another example of this.

I really can't tell if it's red or pink.

Official Sony website suggests that it is pink:

But GSMArena's hands-on photos suggest that it is red:

Then there's a video, that looks like it's somewhere in between:

But here it looks decidedly red again!

I'm confused. Red or pink?
