I wanna build my girlfriend a new PC for christmas and I'm torn between the GBOX and SS51 vs a nice MicroATX box with that Abit nForce board... Considering price, styling and functionality, Which would you choose???

I have the Abit nForce mATX board in one of my computers. It runs flawless. I haven't had a single crash, lockup, etc in over 2 months. I use the integrated graphics on it and it looks great. Probably one of the best boards I've owned. Highly recommended

my vote goes for the shuttle or the g-box
i've got the ss51g and it's been great. my wife liked the gbox so much that she took it after i built it and i hd to get the shutle to replace it.
i've had zero problams with theses boxes. i acually believe that all pcs except the enthusiast, server, and high end workstations will soon go to this small form facor.
good luck

NO DO NOT GET THE GBOX. The SS51G is so much better!!! I just got mine today and it kicks ass. Its almost noiseless with a vantec 80mm fan. My loudest component is my Maxtor 80gig fluid HD;).

That DIGN case looks like full-ATX compatible. Why put a SN40 in there? ... Albeit a similar case with the same concept, but smaller, might be just what the doctor is asking for ... :)

C'mon, guys! I'm not *totally* out of my mind. :)

The SN40 is gearing up to be one of the better HTPC packages available. However, the case is not one that will immediately blend in with other home theater components. The DIGN case can be deemed as being more appropriate for that type of environment. Besides, I just want another 5.25" external bay anyway! :) Yes, I am ignoring any compatibility issues between full ATX and micro-ATX at the moment.

-SUO, been hanging out at www.avsforum.com too much :p

There is. The SS51G supports 133MHZ FSB, I believe. If not, then I still believe SiS is safer than Via for your girlfriend anyday.
