XP941 with Raid Rampage 5 Extreme

Does anyone here have any knowledge on this matter?

What I want to do is get a SAMSUNG XP941 512gb for my Rampage 5 extreme and run it in the m.2 slot as primary OS drive and then use standard sata controller in raid 1 for my data. Im currently doing this on my x79 dark but all the drives needed to be in the same storage controller.

my mind tells me it should not be an issue since the XP941 is a PCI and the others are sata.

SAMSUNG XP941 seems to be the go to drive now but I was reading there was another one to come out shortly but I don't remember the drive.

This will work, if your mainboard has an M.2 PCIe slot and supports a connected device as bootable.

You probably mean the upcoming Samsung SM951, which will support the new NVMe interface (instead of the AHCI one). For details you may look >here<.

thanks for the info, I figured it would be possible just wanted be be sure.

the SM951 was the other drive. Now to decide if I want to wait or just get the xp 941
