hey guys I have done the pencil trick on many cpus already but I have a enw xp3000 333mhz and I want to over clock it are these usually locked because as soon as I try and set the multiplyier in the bios it will not post I have to reset it and then move the buss speed back to 166 so do I have to unlock this bad oscar to push it and can I do the pencil trick or is this one that needs that goop for window defrosters?

Also any links to where I can get that stuff if I need it would be great. Thanks in advance guys and gals..

If the CPU is newer than week 39 of 2003 it is uber-locked.

HERE'S an old link on it.

Did you increase the vcore (voltage to cpu)?

Also the multi (locked) is set pretty high on those - 13X see here. That w/b a 2.6ghz CPU, not likely w/o serious cooling and high vcore.

If your mobo has an AGP/PCI lock, try FSB of 185mhz. That w/b 2.4ghz, not shabby!
