I have a ASUS A7V8X mobo. It has the KT400 chipset on it but the FSB runs at 333. I have a Sempron 3000/MP in it right now but I wonder if a XP2600 I have laying would be faster. Any ideas?

I also have a XP-M 3000+ that is the 266fsb flavor. How would it do in this comparison against both chips above? Here they all are again:

XP2600 333mhz fsb
Sempron 3000+/MP 333mhz fsb
XP-M 3000+ 266mhz fsb

why don't you run a series of tests to see which one if faster? (i.e. 3DMark, PCMark, some games, etc ,etc . . . and let them crunch some numbers to see which one is faster?)
I had the 2600+, not a bad proc, but was not able to overclock it past 2.31GHz(most likely due to cheap RAM). You might stand a good chance overclocking the XP-M of yours?

Sell that stuff on ebay and get a much faster system for almost no money. For example an Asrock board with an X2 4400+.

Both of you are correct. I was trying to avoid running the test and I am getting sick of running old stuff and am thinking hard about some NEWER stuff. I have a top of the line AGP card so I have been looking at the Asrocks offerings over the years. Later!
