Hey All,

Anyone here running a XP2100+ on an ASUS A7M266?

I need to know if you are running the Palomino core (model 6) or the Thouroughbred core (model 8).

I'm waiting for an answer from Asus but thought I would ask here also.

Thanks,
cstierhoff

If you ever got a response to this (privately) please post it here. I've got a friend with the exact same question (which unfortunately have not been able to get an answer to). njrich

Below is the ASUS Responce in it's entirety. Frankly I was surprized as h3ll that I even got 1. I found 1 dealer on the web that still has the XP2100+ Model 6 with the Palomino core. 1 Year warranty for $111. Some dealers say they have it but when they check, it turns out it is the Thoroughbred core model 8. BTW the current version bios is 1007.

I've been running an AMD 2200+ on my A7M266 for a while now...no problems, although I have read that other people have had problems. I posted what was needed as far as motherboard and BIOS a few months ago...you could do a search to find it. So far, I've been very happy with this setup.
