XP2000+ Palomino Overlocking? :(

I just picked up the following for a great price:

XP2000+ Palomino
Epox EP-8K9A
512mb OCZ PC3200 DDR400

I also got the Koolance PC2-601W and the CPU-200G block. The block came with some thermal paste, but it has 1/2 the conductivity of the ASIII and thats all I have until my ASIII arrives.

I threw it all together and then had to leave so I am not at home right now, but does anyone have an idea of how high this will go? I am not really expecting much of anything as I know the Palomino sucks, but 100-200mhz would be nice.

Thanks and let me know!

If I remember right, the Palaminos generally top out around 1.7-1.9GHz. Some can be pushed higher & some can't.

With good water cooling, you should be able to get close to 2GHz... 12.5 x 166. If you can't get the system running on a 166MHz FSB, I'd suspect the XP as the weak link.

The internal speed of an XP 2000+ CPU is 1.67ghz. I have an XP 2000+ (Palomino core) that I can take to 1.825ghz in a system that uses PC133 SDRam, a GlacialTech Igloo 2500 Pro HSF (provides moderate air cooling) and the default core voltage, absolutely stable. Since that's approximately a 160mhz overclock with limited hardware, I would definitely expect your "quality" components to do a 200mhz or greater overclock.
