hey, im about ready to purchase a "xp1900+" processor with a "abit kr7a-raid" motherboard... im new to this overclocking, anyone wanna give me some help or ideas on how to do it, and some precautions to be careful of... if i do overclock, how many fans would i need, and which fan would work best? thanks for your help everyone...

You have no clue about overclocking so I suggest you either read ALOT of stuff so that you actually know what you are getting yourself into or just give it up.

thanks for your help

I already received my Abit KR7A-RAID, but I'm still waiting for the Athlon XP 1900+ to arrive. I also already have the Alpha PAL8045, but I want a good fan. People are recommending Papst fans, but I can't find the thing anywhere, well at least not the 46CFM one. I want this fan but I don't think it's sold in the US. I was therefore considering the Delta 68CFM, or the 80CFM one, but these are too loud.

Chill out man-buy the cpu first and try overclocking it only if it doesn't satisfy your needs.Afterall it's AMD remember?

🙂 ya, i know alot about software, internet, programming, fixing computers, ive been studying the hardawre now
so i bought me some decent parts, do any of you guys know where i can check out how to put a socket thermalright sk6 hsf on?🙂
