When I boot up, my motherboard reports the processor as being 1100 mhz, although I installed the retail box of a 1700+ XP into the motherboard. Also there is a jumper on the motherboard that I can change to make the FSB 133 mhz, instead of FSB 100 mhz. Does my athlon XP support this higher FSB? I get confused when it comes to all these different clock speeds. I am not looking to overclock yet, I want to make sure the system is stable at normal speeds first. Any Help is appreciated.

Mobo:
FIC AN11 (Set with the factory defaults, no attempt at OC'ing yet)
256 Crucial RAM

Thanks,
Dr Orville

You're on the right track, shut down and switch that jumper. The 1700+ should be operating at a real frequency of 1466MHz, and when you switch the jumper it will probably call it a "1700+" at the POST screen.

edit: I'm assuming you have PC2100 memory and not PC1600... that right?
