XP1600+ to 1800+/K7T Turbo - Comments Appreciated!

Green XP1600+ AROIA (4?, that's first # in serial#) LOCKED @1.80v
Coolermaster 37.5 CFM, CPU@45C /case 28C
MSI K7T Turbo (plain)
384 Crucial PC133 @CAS2
Sparkle 300 200W Combined

Posting XP 1800+, but truly at 1510.92 per WCPUID, 144x10.5 (won't go 145). CPUmark99=132. Seems totally stable.

Doesn't want to work above 10.5, except did post at 1700+, 140x11.

Doesn't want to post out of bios, but will go @1800+ if I restart. Tried upping voltage to 1.82, but doesn't help this problem.

Sort of tired of the numerous settings I've tried. Wonder how you think this is for an older KT133A, PC133 and a locked XP? Please bear in mind I'm not attempting a super o/c, especially in this hot weather. Thanks for any input!

Is that 45 C temperature the case temperature? Or is there a sensor near/under the CPU itself?

Honestly, I'm a bit surprised that you can't get it any higher. Those AROIA's have been doing superbly, from what I understand. Looking at your system specs, I don't see where the bottleneck is.

That isn't to say that 1800+ isn't a decent improvement over 1600+. It's just that it seems like a lot of the 1600+ AROIA's have been going to 1900+ without a problem.

Thanks for the fast reply. Thats CPU temp at 45C/case@28C. Yes, sensor under CPU. Bear in mind this is a LOCKED CPU, and using PC133 vs DDR. Thanks again.

O/T Doubt anyone truly does. My dad's family landed in Port Royal, Va in 1750s, and the name came from there. One fellow thought I was an ex Royal's player.

A couple of things:

First, I somehow missed that you said you were using PC133 rather than DDR in the first post. I honestly don't know if that would hold you back or not. Obviously the quality (brand) of memory would make a difference, but I have no idea if PC133 vs. DDR would.

And yes, I did see that your CPU is locked. But I'm pretty sure I've read some people with locked AROIA 1600+'s getting to 1900+ (10.5x152 or 153) without a problem. I know a lot of the AGOIA's can do it (mine is!) 🙂

So, perhaps it's your memory holding you back. I really don't know. Good luck though.

Thanks again. From all I've read, it takes DDR (vs 133) to get the higher FSBs. Expect you've got hotter/newer gear.

I'm running a green 1600+ at 1900+ (or 1.58ghz, 10.5*150) and I'm still using older pc133 SDRAM, so the RAM might not be your limitation. I can't make any voltage tweaks since I have an ECS k7s5a. Oh, and I think my chip is an ARIOA like yours.

Lots of luck to ya 🙂
