XP1600+, GC68 w/L1a, vertical mount PSU

I bought an XP1600+, mb and GC68 from a forum member to upgrade my girlfriend's computer. She hardly makes use of the P2-450 in her existing computer, so overclocking won't be necessary. The case is an old InWin A500 with a vertically mounted PSU. The PSU is the one seen here. I've swapped out the fan on the GC68 with an L1a to keep her system somewhat quiet.

Should I mount it sucking away from the CPU? This seems like it would be beneficial, since it would be working with the fan on the PSU, but I don't know for sure.

That is NOT a good setup. Multiple times have I been forced to use cases with vertical PSUs, and every time the chip would overheat. They are pure evil. First and foremost, I would look into a new case. If thats out of the question, I would try what you ask and turn the fan to suck air out of the heatsink. Sometimes its better, and this might be one of those cases.

I'll give it a try with it sucking away first. It previously housed a 300a overclocked to 450 with the retail HSF, and now has a P2-450 in there that's passively cooled. The current PSU flows half of what the new one does (old was modified w/an L1a). I'll keep my fingers crossed. This cpu will be idling 99% of the time anyway.
