Friends pc will not load xp.It did run the home edition,he had loaded Norton a/v twice and that had it fouled up.I had reinstalled the os from the cd boot-up.Then he wanted the cpu changed to a faster one, which I did.Now when it goes thru the boot sequence,it gets to the end and says xp startup files corrupted c:\windows\system...ect,I can boot from a win98se floppy,it wants to know where the command.com file is,I cannot get to a command prompt, and it now refuses to boot from cd.It is formatted in ntfs, which I would keep me from formating the h/d and attemping to load 98se from cd.or win 95 from floppies as these are fat file sys.Anyone have a silver bullet ?
