klnyc,
All i had to do on this pc was enable Advanced Power Management in WinXP, enabling it in the bios made no difference, just enabling in XP allowed me to shut down properly.
I am using an older version of bios on that pc though, its dated 3-20-2001.
I have 3 pcs & if I remember correctly, I flashed the bios on my Epox the week I got it & there was some annoying screen that it installed during bootup, so I flashed back to the one that came with my mobo, so I am still using the original bios that was shipped with my Epox.
Now my Soyo 6BA+IV mobo in my Intel pc, i had to use an older bios to shutdown properly in XP, than the newest one I had, it seems Soyo removed the newest from their website when there were problems with it shutting down in XP.
Talk about a pain to troubleshoot!
I kept saying to myself "it cant be the bios, I have the newest one!"
I flashed to the older one & my troubles were solved.
So, for what its worth, the latest bios isnt always the most compatable. 😉
