It blue screens during the text mode part of setup saying the BIOS is not ACPI compliant, but I have the latest bios. The board has an athlon xp 2200+, Adaptect 2940U2, SB Live and 3com Etherlink XL card. It also have a geforce3 ti200 graphics card and two sticks of pc133 SDRAM.

Has anyone had ACPI issues on this board?

Is ACPI enabled in BIOS? Remove the SCSI, SBLive, and 3Com add-in cards until you have XP installed, then add them one by one.

Either it is disabled in the BIOS, or one of the other cards is conflicting and causing the ACPI to have no resources and thus not load. Also make sure the resources are set to auto in the bios, and install XP with just the video card in the machine. Then add each additional card in order of importance. Lastly, try to avoid using the PCI slot next to the AGP slot as that can cause problems.

I've installed several machines with this mobo (and CPU, for that matter). Feel free to PM me for specific advice if you need.

Are you using a USB keyboard or mouse?

Had this SAME problem with a KM133a board. Someone said "Are you using a USB keyboard or mouse?" And I was. So I used a PS2 Keyboard/mouse and it never came up. After I installed XP I plugged the USB keyboard/Mouse and it worked fine?

Don't know if that helps or not? Did me for some reason :)

I do have a USB keybaord and mouse plugged into it. I can't believe they'd make such a piece of crap motherboard that conflicts with something as basic as a keyboard. I've had this USB keybaord for 2-3 years now on a BX motherboard, and companies are still coming out with crap like that.

Ok. I'll try to reinstall XP again with a friends ps/2 keyboard.

You can also pick up a USB-PS/2 adapter for a couple of bucks to have around just in case.

I would bet money on the usb issue. I tried installing win2k and winxp on an abit vh6t (socket370) mobo and it would do the exact same thing. Once i got rid of the usb keyboard and went to ps2, the problem went away.

Hope it works out for you, i know i was hella frustrated!!

I had the same issue with a MSi KT7 Pro2....

With ANY USB keyboard (not mouse, only KB affected it) plugged in, Win2k setup would BSOD immediately during second stage install. I only figured out it was the keyboard because I accidentally unplugged the KB while trying to figure out what the problem was.

Glad I am not the only one that had this problem. I thiught I had a bad board or Ram, power supply, etc.... I changed everything out etc.... before someone said take the USB Keyboard/Mouse off.

But like I said. After it is installed you can plug them back in and they will work fine.
