XP won't allow access to drive

HI all,
I have a Diamondmax 10 that I partitioned on the original XP install. Each drive is 50% of the total. Anyway I had to reload XP and the C drive is accessible but the D drive (other half of partition) is not. Any ideas on how to get access? I am logged on as administrator.

I should note it allows me to see all th efolders on the partition but won't let me open the "access denied"

those folders weren't encrypted by chance were they?

YOu should note that if this is home edition you'll have to restart in safe mode in order to see the security tab.

I've heard some spywares that actually hijack your files! I hope this is not one of them.

I just backed up the files, reformatted and then restored BU. Most files are OK but some are corrupt. Better than nothing I guess........
