I just remembered that I formatted my PC last weekend so any hotfixes that I previously did are gone.... are there any hotfixes that I may need ?

I know I had this message before and I did some hotfixes previously and I got same error message previously... so I don't know if it will help...

Looking up this error message... I'm going to install the below hotfix that address virtual address space usage.

Any other hotfixes that you know of... pls let me know.

After all the uninstalls/installs the game COH still froze/crashed... and even after formatting my PC... I still had problems... But... I have finally got this resolved. I know that previously I had made some changes and problem momentarirly went away... and I said... Yeah, looks to be good... but eventually errors came back....

I can definitely say now after extensive testing/playing that this is now resolved. I had joined another forum and followed someones suggestions....

Basically, when game is launched... go to game options and to to graphic settings. In here, there is a shadow quality. The default setting was Direct3D DX10. I changed this setting to High and voila no more crashes/freezes !!

Other people had the same problem and after this change they no longer freeze/crash. Initially I thought that it was a problem with DX10 & NVIDIA, but it appears that people with ATI also had the same problem and after changing this setting they were fine too.

The only problem that I still have is that game AOE III, crashes on me once in a while... but checking system requirements... It does not list Windows VISTA. So I think that may be the problem...

I'm gonna try running game with XP/SP2 compability to see if this makes any difference for this game.

You know what's random, I had no problems whatsoever up until I decided to install Perfectdisk just to get around from using the built-in Vista defrag app.

All of a sudden my 3dmark06 starts crashing and I get stuttering / artifacts along with the nvlddmkm errors that pop up when I play games.

Uninstalled my 8800GT drivers, got rid of Perfectdisk then updated the GT drivers and bam, error free!

I've been staying away from installing anything other than essential programs on my PC in order to pin point my crashes/freezes. Now that I have resolved my main headaches I will start to install some other programs but will do them 1 at a time.

I'm using O&O Defrag 10 (set for manual defrags) which has never given me any problems with Vista x64 or gaming.
