XP users losing shares to a specific Server 2008

We run multi environment to our file server, running Server 2008.

25% XP still and the rest running 7. After a short period, XP users will lose their connection to the shares, but Windows 7 users will work fine. We reboot, XP users work fine, generally for 30 minutes to 2 hours until it happens again and we need to force reboot.

We've tried a lot of things, disabling SMBv2, and forcing SMBv1, but that broke both, hotfixes, restarting services, defaulting IP stack, removed mcafee, removing latest windows updates.

I am about to call MS and drop $700 on a support call, so I am curious if anyone else has any suggestions before I do that.

It started about 2 weeks ago.

Not familiar with Server 2008, but possibly something in the Share propterties related to what type of client can access a share? Session timeout or something like that?

How can you view session timeouts though, basically I need a good way to even start troubleshooting this. I tried wireshark, but connections get to it, and then get accepted/created.
