XP Updates to disc

I'm getting ready to reformat my hdd and I need to know if I can download all the updates and then burn them off on a cd or dvd? I'd rather install everything offline, including my antivirus, spyware, etc apps., and then connect to the internet. Can I download the entire update package (not service pack) or do they have to be d/l'ed individually?

Thanks,
-Jason

Yes, you can download & install them offline. To make the windows installation efficient, you can use nLite to slipstream the updates into the windows xp cd. Or you can just install them after the normal xp installation is complete.

Hey, thanks! That nLite app looks pretty nifty, d/l'ing .net framwork now and then I'll try and figure out how to use it. 🙂

I should have been more specific with what I was asking in the OP. Alright, according to my Update History on Mikersoft's site, I have a total of 40 updates that I've d/l'ed. Will I have to d/l all 40 updates and save them to disk in order for my reinstall to be current, or are some of those updates only updates of previous updates? 😕 lol

For example: There's 28 "Security Update for Windows XP (KBXXXXXX)" that I've installed. Does that last Security Update make all the other ones obsolete or does all 28 make up the (1) Security Update? I don't know how to explain this, sorry! Hope you can understand what I'm asking.

Thanks again,
-Jason

http://unattended.msfn.org/index.htm

Follow the "begginner" section at that link details how to insert hotfixes and SPs into XP
also provides a link to a section of their forum that maintains an updated list of current hotfixes and links to download them.

Whole procedure is detailed explicitly.

Once you start modifying the OS it becomes addictive ,be careful.

Awesome link, thanks Idgaf13!

I went ahead and installed a fresh copy of XP. With this new install, I d/l'ed a total of 33 updates this morning. So I answered my question; all of those security updates make up (1) security update. I was going to list all of them in this post for reference but I didn't know if that was against the rules or a no-no.
