My DVD server is running Windows XP. I'd like to consolidate it into my main rig, running Vista Ultimate.
My only hesitation is that Vista's drive sharing seems like such a PITA compared to XP. All my rigs are on an internal network and I'm not worried about security.
Is there any way to share drives on Vista as with XP? IE, right click, hit share, type the name, and voila? For some reason whenever I try to share drives on Vista it's always wanting a log-in and password, which is annoying because I set all my systems to auto-login and then have to try and remember the passwords.
