XP to XP Professional

Is there a cheap way to upgrade from XP to XP professional - without having to buy the upgrade software ($199). I am looking at a system, that I can not get with Professional - but I would like Professional to be added.

Check the FS/FT and HotDeals forums. You should be able to do it for ~100.

Y do you have to have Pro? The only real diff is the security settings and being able to join a domain.

Lets not forget remote desktop, thats the killer Pro feature to me...

And multiple processors. The security features alone are worth the extra money for me.

More for the security features. But I believe I can get around it with other applications - I'd ratehr have it built into the operating system though.
