XP to 98se network problems...

I am running 2 machines, one with XP Pro(server) and the other with 98se(client). I am running the network through a Linksys Homelink 1mb Phoneline Network. I am sharing the internet through the XP network setup utility. The whole thing has been working fine for months but it died yesterday. I did the general trouble shooting with switching cables, swaped the two cards and directly linked the 2 with a phone line which should be foolproof. Instead both computers are only able to see themselves in Network Neighborhood. Since they can see themselves that means that the hardware is working fine, right? I have run out of options and am considering just ditching it for a wireless setup. Any ideas on how to make it work?

-Thanks

I suspect one of the cards has gone bad but if you are determined to check out everything try Windows XP Network Troubleshooting. But, a 1mb network might be worth ditching even if it was working. Personally, I am quite fond of my HomePna 2.0 stuff, but wireless is obviously hotter right now.
