XP TCP/IP Problems

It seems that all my network connections have problems of some kind at the moment. The first one lies with my Ethernet adapter. I've got my broadband connection shared out over it, therefore windows is running a DHCP server on it as well as setting it to the static address 192.168.0.1. However, sometimes when the connection comes up, it sits there going "Aquiring IP address" and usually needs disabling / enabling to fix it.

I noticed that the problem goes further in that I have experienced a similar problem when using my 2200BG wireless connection in 2 different places on 2 completely different routers. Here, there is no sharing going on from my PC and the connection is configured to use DHCP, and the routers are known to be working fine. Yet my PC just sits there indefinately saying "Aquiring IP address".

Any suggestions on how to solve this without resorting to a rebuild?
