I replaced my 40 GB Maxtor with an 80GB Seagate using the Seagate utility. My old drive had 5 partitions the new one has 4. I told the Seagate utility that I would be using the new drive for booting and keeping the old drive in the system. It seemed to work ok. Now I want to remove the old drive but when I do System restore gives this error message:
RUNDLL:
An exception occured while trying to run "shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL
"C:\WINDOWS\System32\sysdm.cpl",System"
System Restore is fine if I put the old drive back in. I assume the problem is it is looking for the partitions on the drive I took out. How do I tell it they are gone? Other than that the system appears to be working fine without the old drive.
