If you disable XP system restore can you in future go back to the point just before you dsable it?

Providing you used the System Restore function to make an image 1st, then shut off System Restore, AFAIK, yes in the future you should be able to re-activate System Restore and go back using that image.

If I remember right, there is one of the M$ warning windows that pops up when
you disable System Restore, indicating existing restore points will be lost!

I think that you will lose all your restore points if you disable System Restore in XP. I know that this happened when I disabled system restore in WinME.

How do you choose restore points anyway, if something goes wrong?
