XP Startup Locks

Ok, I've tried reformatting like 5 times now and everytime I get a clean install of XP and install a few programs and do a few reboots, then install a few more programs it stalls at the XP bootup sequence. Its always a different program that screws it up too, what the heck?? Is it my o/c duron? (750->950). It shouldn't be because it was stable for the longest time in XP before I decided to format.

-Duron 750 (o/c 950)
-256 meg PC133
-Hercules Prophet 4500
-SB Live! Value
-SMC NIC
-MSI K7T Turbo Raid
-IBM 14.4gig 7200rpm

thanx in advance.

Sounds like you are overclocking too much (even though you say WinXP was stable before you tried to reformat).

Clock down to spec speeds, reinistall WinXP and see if the same things happen again. 😀
