xp splash screen doesn't end

Ok, so I installed the IE6 SP3 (?) update and Window Media Player 9, but I didn't restart my comp, that was yesterday. I also installed Illustrator CS and still didn't restart. I let my comp on during the night to download stuff and today, when I opened a .PDF file, acrobat reader crashed, along with Window Explorer crash, so I clicked "Don't Send" but the Windows Explorer kept crashing so I restarted.

And then, at the Windows XP Splash screen (with the loading bar), the loading didn't stop, I couldn't get to the login screen, I restarted and I could enter in Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking.

Any ideas/solutions?
And NO, not the "Last Known Good Configuration" because last time, it roll-back my registry and I had to reinstall windows
Also not the system restore, same thing happened.

Thx

ok, i think i figured out the problem and it's microsoft office 2003
is there any way i can uninstall office (windows installer .msi) in Safe Mode?

UPDATE: It's NOT because of Office 2003, the problem was Alcohol 120% with the virtual drive mounted, I removed the image file from the virtual drive, tried to reboot and it worked!
