XP SP3 won't boot from disk on laptop?

Or Win 7 for that matter.. I just think this laptop doesn't boot OS's from CD. What do I do?

Is there a BIOS option to boot from CD?

What make/model of laptop?

CD is set to first boot device, but the system just ignores it. No 'boot from CD' prompt or anything. Acer Aspire 9301 AWSMi.

Try a different disk. Otherwise, how is the optical drive? Could it be suffering some ailment?

No idea - I just burned it with Win 7's built-in burner. What was I supposed to do?

It probably got burned as a data DVD, not as an image file. Try using ImgBurn, and then burn as image. It should work then.
