XP SP2 thinks it has no Windows Updates installed

Installed SP2 on a machine. Everything seemed to go fine.

Now, however, it seems to think that no updates have ever been done (including original pre-SP1 updates).

I let it install a whole bunch of them, but now it wants to download and install SP1 for some reason. The SP2 stuff is there and functional (security center, new IE, etc...).

Is there any way to correct whatever log it has that shows what updates have been installed so I can turn autoupdate back on for this person. I don't want it to download and install SP1, not sure what that would do to it.

Thanks,

j

SP2 includes all previous SP1 and pre-SP1 updates, therefore they are no longer seen. Since SP2, there are a lot of updates. Better visit the Windows Update site.

You misunderstood.

Since installing SP2, it now thinks it has never had ANY updates installed and wants to reinstall ALL windows updates (including SP1, etc...). If you look at system properties, it doesn't say SP1 or SP2 are installed, yet all of the SP2 updates are present (like new IE, security center, etc..).
