Flip a coin. I'd go with XP but turn the graphical fluff off.

I would have to go with MDE on this one.. XP is the better of the two for that app.. If it was lower specs i would wager 2k would be the better bet.

XP SP2. I don't want to go into a flame war over OS's (especially one as silly as Windows vs. Windows).

I guess I would thne ask what features does win2k sp4 have over on xp sp2 and vice versa?

XP is made for conusmer and multimedia.. 2k is made for Corp use and business.. Not many companys us XP for their corp networks most still use 2k..

I used to be die-hard Win2K, but I'm now an XP man. *But* I turn off the visual eyecandy and then properly disable the "Themes" service. With several such steps, plus the use of some powertoys, WinXP is even better than Win2K. (http://www.blkviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm)

But straight out of the box?... Win2K is much nicer to use.
