I used to be die-hard Win2K, but I'm now an XP man. *But* I turn off the visual eyecandy and then properly disable the "Themes" service. With several such steps, plus the use of some powertoys, WinXP is even better than Win2K. (http://www.blkviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm)
But straight out of the box?... Win2K is much nicer to use.
