xp sp2 crash when exiting applications

since i installed sp2, some applications -mostly games- sometimes crash and the pc restarts.
I remember reading this before and the answer was disabling sth, but i don't quite remember what.

any help would be apreciated,
 
Does the game crash or does Windows crash? Go to Control Panel / System / Advanced and click the Settings button under Startup and Recovery. Make sure Automatic Restart is NOT checked under "System Failure". See if the PC restarting is the result of a blue screen of death, and if it is write that error message here.
