XP SP2 Bug?

If you have SP2 RC1 installed, please do the following and let me know the results:

go to <A class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.buyandhold.com" target=blank>www.buyandhold.com
</A>click the login button on the top right of the screen

Does the page load or does it just pull up the html source?

Update: I submitted this to MS as a posible bug. Can anyone else confirm this?

I have SP2 installed, and that link pulls up the HTML code in IE. I also have it w/o SP2 on another computer, and it does the same thing. I would say the problem is with that page and link - not the OS.

Happens to me also -- there is another web site I often go to and when I use the back button I get HTML. I asked on the board if anyone else had the problem, but none did -- I am the only one on that board with SP2 RC1

That's interesting...

I had that same problem on 2 PCs using SP2 RC1. I quickly reloaded one PC and left it a SP1a due to that annoying issue. I would say it's a bug a hopefully enough people have reported it.

Good to hear. Thanks.

More than one person needs to submit it to get the attention of Microsoft though. If everyone sits back assuming the next person will submit it, nothing will ever get done.

I just checked it and the link works fine. It is as I suspected - it was a problem ON THAT WEB SITE that has now been fixed. Not a bug in SP2! 🙂

Just tried it again and it came up perfectly. Do you have all the patches and updates applied to SP2?

I just confirmed this (html showing up) on three SP2 machines.

I also got the page to come up normally on a 2003 box.

There is another issue which may be separate where if you click back you get code. Look for this to be fixed in RC2

Not sure if this is the same thing though.

Yes, that is the issue I run into quite often. Glad to hear that MS is aware and it will be fixed in the next RC.
