XP SP1 install and now corrupted pages

i got a 160gb max hdd yesterday
in order for xp to see the whole 160 i had to install sp1
i have done this before and everytime i get corrupted pages
the icons do not load all i see are placeholders
i have to rite click /show picture to get them
when i uninstall it goes back to normal
what do i have to do to fix this?

It's an OS problem since it happens after installing SP1

Tried reinstalling internet explorer 6 sp1 or using netscape.

yes i also reinstalled via service pack,dx9,and vid drivers
i also dont like netscape

i uninstalled sp1
all is well and windows sees the whole drive [so far]
ill find out if/when i fill it
if worse comes to worse ill break it ito 2 partitions
