XP SP-1 and dual-core question

I'm considering running repair install for XP home, from an older XP disk with SP-1, with a dual core Opteron. I've done it plenty of times with single core, but I'm thinking I've seen somewhere that it can be a problem, if not impossible, with dual-core cpu. TIA for answers. I did a search, but came up with nothing.
