I am now using the on board sound on a Asus P4B motherboard. Knowing I would in time move up to the Creative Labs, Sound Blaster Audigy card. I did not install any software off of the CD that came with the motherboard. I used the drivers that Windows XP installed.
I now have the new sound card to install and was wanting to know the best way to do this without causing a conflict. I know to disable the on board card in the BIOS. But what about the drivers that were installed by XP. Do I need to get rid of them or what?
I have been to the Creative Labs web site and downloaded the drivers for the Audigy card for XP. Also, after installing the drivers for the new soundcard what software should I install from the CD that came with the Audigy card? I?m a typical PC user, games, internet, office suites, photo editing, etc. I know the last question would be personal choice, but any advice would be appreciated.
